Unintentionally sent flying to the Empire of Volakia, Subaru Natsuki reunites with Rem, who has finally woken up again. However, his joy lasts only for a moment before the two of them are pulled into a massive internal struggle embroiling the entire empire. Forced to deal with the deposed emperor, Subaru vows to bring Rem home to the Kingdom of Lugunica by any means necessary.
